태국 방콕의 게임 스튜디오 Jumbo Jumps가 개발 중인 온라인 협동 액션 로그라이트 Father, Son & Holy Guns가 10월 19일부터 26일까지 열리는 스팀 넥스트 페스트에서 첫 공개 데모를 선보인다. 최대 4명이 총을 든 성직자가 되어, 러브크래프트 신화에서 영감을 얻은 외신(Outer Gods)의 무리와 맞서 싸우는 게임이다.
신앙이 화력이 된 세계
게임의 배경은 총알 모양의 수수께끼 물체가 세계 곳곳에서 발견된 뒤 종교 집단이 시대를 앞선 지식을 얻은 대체 역사다. 종교 단체가 산업 기술을 쥐고 성전과 확장에 나서던 중 별 너머에서 외신이 침공해 오자, 서로 다투던 신앙들은 ‘기름과 강철과 화약의 신앙’을 내건 인류 교회(Church of Humanity) 아래 하나로 뭉친다. 교회의 뜻을 총으로 집행하는 전사들을 ‘총자군(Gunsaders)’이라 부른다.
플레이 스타일이 다른 총자군 4인
- 시스터 릴리스(Sister Lilith) : 생명을 집어삼켜 힘을 얻는다고 믿는 피의 교단 출신 고아. 말 그대로 손 모양의 ‘핸드 캐논’을 휘두른다.
- 브라더 바룬(Brother Varun) : 평화를 중시하는 동방 분파 출신이지만 진정한 평화는 적의 섬멸뿐이라 믿는다. 산탄총 두 자루와 소총으로 싸운다.
- 파더 피에로(Father Piero) : 옛 신앙 시절 교황 후보였다고 주장하는 최고참 총자군. 외신 첫 침공의 생존자로, 직접 만든 ‘총 왕좌’에서 전장에서도 내려오지 않는다.
- 시스터 카마라(Sister Kamara) : 불에 의한 죽음을 가장 성스러운 배웅으로 여기는 화장 교단의 주술사. 전장에 불을 붙이는 화염 톱을 쓴다.
판마다 달라지는 협동 로그라이트
전투는 빠른 템포가 특징이다. 공중 콤보를 이어 가며 지상과 하늘 양쪽에서 화력을 퍼붓고, 블랙 유머와 요란한 이펙트가 화면을 채운다. 스팀을 통한 1~4인 온라인 협동을 지원한다.
성장 요소는 판 안에서만 유지되는 강화 ‘축복(Blessings)’이 중심이다. 판이 끝나면 초기화되므로 매번 다른 조합을 시험하게 된다. 맵에서는 죽은 총자군의 장비를 주워 되파는 부제가 무작위로 나타나 ‘암시장’을 열고, 추가 축복과 회복 아이템을 판다.
임무는 외신 숭배자들이 땅에 새긴 ‘엘드리치 표식’에서 쏟아지는 적을 모두 처치하는 섬멸전이 기본이다. 목표를 달성할 때마다 얻는 ‘인간 기름(Human-Oil)’을 충분히 모으면 그 지역의 문지기를 불러낼 수 있다. 외신 이드라(Yidhra)의 성소를 복구하면 회복 물약 ‘넥타’를 받는다.
2년 가까이 다듬은 첫 PC 게임
Jumbo Jumps는 약 50명 규모의 스튜디오로, 전작 Regulus -The Advent-가 BIDC Awards 2025에서 태국 올해의 게임상을 받았다고 밝혔다. Father, Son & Holy Guns는 이 스튜디오가 스팀에 내놓는 첫 PC 게임이다. 개발은 2024년 초 시작됐고, 약 2년 동안 세계 각지의 게임 행사에서 공개됐다. Gamescom Asia 2025 피치 경연(Pitch Competition)에서는 결선 진출작 12편에 들었다.
총괄 프로듀서 Suppalerk Montrisuksirikul은 “1년 넘게 태국의 행사와 세계적인 게임 행사에서 게임을 소개하는 동안, 플레이어들은 언제 직접 플레이할 수 있는지 계속 물어봤다”며 “이제 첫 공개 데모를 선보일 준비가 됐고, 얼리 액세스 출시도 머지않았다”고 말했다.
스팀 상점 페이지에는 얼리 액세스 출시 예정일이 2026년 10월 27일로 올라와 있다. 다만 개발사는 얼리 액세스 일정은 추후 알리겠다고만 밝혀 날짜는 바뀔 수 있다. 현재 지원 언어는 영어뿐이며 한국어는 지원하지 않는다.

Father, Son & Holy Guns, an online co-op action roguelite from Bangkok-based studio Jumbo Jumps, will release its first public demo during Steam Next Fest, running October 19 to 26. Up to four players take up arms as gun-toting clergy and fight hordes of Outer Gods inspired by the Lovecraft mythos.
A world where faith fuels firepower
The game is set in an alternate history where mysterious bullet-shaped objects turned up all over the world and handed religious groups knowledge beyond their time. With religious organizations in control of industrial technology and waging crusades of expansion, the Outer Gods invade from beyond the stars. The squabbling faiths unite under the Church of Humanity, the faith of oil, steel and gunpowder. The warriors who carry out the Church’s will with guns are called the Gunsaders.
Four Gunsaders, four playstyles
- Sister Lilith: An orphan raised by a blood cult that believes strength comes from devouring life. She wields a hand-cannon, quite literally.
- Brother Varun: He comes from the Church’s peaceful eastern branch, yet believes true peace only comes from wiping out the enemy. He fights with two shotguns and a rifle.
- Father Piero: The longest-serving Gunsader, who claims he was once chosen as a candidate for pontiff under the old faith. A survivor of the first Outer God invasion, he never leaves the gun-throne he built, even on the battlefield.
- Sister Kamara: A shaman of the Pyre, a dogma that sees death by fire as the holiest send-off. She wields a flame-saw that sets the battlefield alight.
A co-op roguelite that changes every run
Combat is fast. Players chain aerial combos and pour holy firepower down from both the ground and the sky, with dark humor and loud visual effects filling the screen. The game supports 1-4 player online co-op through Steam.
Progression centers on Blessings, upgrades that last only for the current run. They reset when the match ends, so every run means trying a new combination. A deacon who scavenges gear from dead Gunsaders appears at random on the map to run the Black Market, selling extra Blessings and healing items.
The core objective is Elimination: clear out every enemy that pours from an Eldritch Mark left by Outer God worshippers. Each completed objective rewards Human-Oil, and collecting enough lets players lure out the area’s Gatekeeper. Restoring a Shrine of Yidhra grants Nectar, a healing potion.
Nearly two years in the making
Jumbo Jumps is a studio of around 50 people. It says its previous title, Regulus -The Advent-, won Thailand’s Game of the Year at the BIDC Awards 2025. Father, Son & Holy Guns is the studio’s first PC game on Steam. Development began in early 2024, and the game has been shown at gaming events around the world for almost two years. It was one of 12 finalists in the Gamescom Asia 2025 Pitch Competition.
“For more than a year, as we brought the game to events in Thailand and major showcases around the world, players kept asking when they would finally be able to play it for themselves,” said Executive Producer Suppalerk Montrisuksirikul. “Now we’re ready to release our first public demo, and our Early Access launch isn’t far off either.”
The Steam store page currently lists the Early Access release for October 27, 2026. The studio has only said more Early Access news will follow, so the date may change. The game currently supports English only, with no Korean language support.
